The tool threads directly into the derailleur hanger. The gauge bar holds a gauge which marks the distance to the wheel. Rotate the gauge with the wheel to the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions to note any measurement differences, then apply pressure to the arm to correct the hanger.

Dropout repair and rear derailleur hanger alignment

Used to correct rear derailleur lugs, this tool can help resolve many transmission shifting problems, especially on index shifting systems. Lock and press the sliding bracket to adjust the distance between the measuring rod and the hub, measure the deviation between the tail hook and the wheel rim, and use the swivel rod as the axis to rotate 360° for correction.

Positioning O-ring: move the measuring rod to touch the wheel rim, and position the O-ring by pressing the sliding bracket flush while moving the O-ring.
